Project Description

The Toronto South Detention Centre was built to replace the Don Jail and the Mimico Detention Centre which were located on the site. The new detention centre is a direct supervision model of offender management.

The construction of this 8 building complex consisted of structural steel with a precast shell. The mechanical features include a central processing plant, nine separate mechanical rooms, over 47 air handling units and an independent tear gas system.

Cornerstone, Inc. supplied and installed detention hollow metal, detention hardware, detention glass, security ceilings and detention furniture.
